I first set foot in MRSM Kuala Terengganu in 1985, which was more than 35 years ago but honestly, it doesn't feel that long.
I was this introverted girl feeling out of place embarking on a story where faith, family, friendship, and courage, were put to the test.
That somewhat confused girl is now at the twilight of her life, oblivious of the wrinkles and silvers - still confused but pretending to be full of wisdom.
It's amazing how age creeps up on you, before you know it the big five-o has arrived. Your forties is slipping away and you look back at your life and wonder what the hell happened in your thirties and you hardly remember half of your twenties. Your childhood is so far away that it seems like a dream.
George Carlin's view on ageing is spot on: "You become 21, you turn 30, then you're pushing 40, you reach 50, you make it to 60, you hit 70 and you get into your 80s."
You can either embrace it or worry about it; so, surround yourself with cheerful friends, enjoy simple things in life and keep learning, laugh and cherish your health and don't take guilt trips.
Most importantly, tell the people you love that you love them.
